Abstract:
Composite structures are under different loadingconditions, such as thermo-mechanical loadings. Thepresent research aims to investigate the temperaturedependentmechanical behavior of glass-epoxylaminated composites. Three types of loadingconditions, including tensile, shear, and compressiveloading, were considered under temperatures in theranges of ۲۵-۱۵۰ °C. A wide range of experiments wasconducted. The load is measured by a ۳۰۰ kN load cellof class ۰.۵, and the strain was measured using thedigital image correlation method of class ۰.۵. Two typesof laminated glass/epoxy composite were used, includingwoven glass cloth/epoxy resin and glass mat/epoxy resin.Different temperature-dependent mechanical propertiesof a laminated composite, including elastic modulus,Poisson’s ratio, tensile strength, and elongation atfracture, were measured. Results show that temperaturesignificantly affects the mechanical properties oflaminated glass/epoxy composites.
