Abstract:
The energy crisis has put the life of humanity at risk over time. Thus, the research community has started to use a variety of sources to generate electricity. Energy harvested from human weight is one of the promising sources that has a high potential for harvesting energy. The present study presents an electromagnetic energy harvesting system based on human steps. This system employs a plucking-based frequency up-conversion technique and Halbach arrangements. A semi-analytical analysis is conducted and evaluated by finite element simulations. The results show a footstep can generate an energy of ۱.۷ J in a ۳۰×۳۰ cm۲ area.
