Abstract:
Background: Leishmaniasis , caused by Leishmania species protozoan parasite, is endemic in more than ۹۸ countries. Leishmanosidal drugs, treatment of these intracellular pathogens is still a major challenge due to the established drug resistance Methods: Double emulsion/melt dispersion technique was used for synthesise of SLNResults: formulations in the treated groups compared to the control group led to a significant reduction in the size of the lesion. Also, the sizes of the lesions in groups treated with SLN-Glu and SLN-AmB showed a significant difference compared to the control group Conclusion: It seems that traditional drugs, can be replaced by new formulation of nanoparticles due to their more effectiveness and less toxicity .
