Abstract:
Coccidiosis is an enteric parasitic disorder and one of the most serious poultry diseases worldwide, caused by protozoan parasites of the genus 𝘌𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢. Different medications have been used to cure this disease. Using anticoccidial additives against coccidiosis has turned up problems like drug resistance over time. Also, vaccination has shown severe reactions in pour managed farms. The application of herbal compounds reduces the possibility of many of the previous problems in terms of treatment and prevention. Phenolic components extracted from plants (flavonoids, flavonoids, Curcumin, carvacrol, thymol, and quercetin) have shown a wide range of biological properties such as antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, anti-proliferative, and anticoccidial activities, moreover these compounds have many valuable effects for disease improvement, such as coccidial cell death, modification of intestinal lipid peroxidation, simplifying the repair of epithelial injuries; and decreased intestinal permeability caused by 𝘌𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢 species invasion.
