Abstract:
Background and Aims: This research aimed to study a possible link between endometriosis and polymorphism of the progesterone receptor gene.
Materials and Methods: The control group consisted of ۸۶ women without endometriosis and the case group comprised ۸۶ patients with a diagnosis of endometriosis by laparoscopy. Genotypes for Alu insertion polymorphisms (A۱/A۱, A۱/A۲ and A۲/A۲) were described by polymerase chain reaction and determined on a ۲% agarousegel.
Results: The genotype frequencies of A۱/A۲ and A۲/A۲ were not significantly higher in patients than in the control group without endometriosis. On the other hand differences in the Alu insertion polymorphism frequencies were not significant.
Conclusion: According to our investigations, we conclude that there is not a significant correlation between Alu insertion polymorphism and endometriosis. ;line-height:۱۱۵%'> According to our investigations, we conclude that there is not a significant correlation between Alu insertion polymorphism and endometriosis.
