Abstract:

In this research, spinel nanoparticles of copper chromite (CuCr۲O۴) has been prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy. These nanoparticles were found to be an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of bis(indolyl)methane derivatives through the one-pot reaction of indole and aldehydes. Green and eco-friendly reaction profile using water as a solvent, mild reaction conditions at room temperature, the broad substrate scope, short reaction times, easy performance and excellent yields make this approach attractive, showing its practical synthetic value for the preparation of mentioned biologically or pharmaceutically active compounds.
