Abstract:

This paper reviews the effectivity of various doped (Lanthanides, transition, noble and non metals) TiO2 nano particles as well as performance of different photocathalytic reactors (PCRs) degrading phenolic compounds.Different doping modification techniques studied and their effects on the visible light utilization efficiency arecomparatively reviewed. The effects of three different irradiations (UV, visible, sun light) on specific removal rate (SRR) of phenolic compounds were investigated and the most effective doping modification was identified in each group. Resultes showed that the type of reactor may not essentially have a considerable effect on the process performance as a crucial factor and catalyst loading is the most important factor on design of a hetrogeneous reactors which must be optimized. In this basis, variebles such as mixing rate, reaction temperature, catalyst activity, catalyst to substrate ratio are the affecting the process performance
