Abstract:

The aim of present study is to examine the effectiveness of whatsapp on learning speaking and writingskills as well as attitude of the junior students in the city of lordegan. To do research ۳۰ students ascontrol group and ۳۰ students as experiment group participated in the study. The instrument is thetextbook (prospect۲). First of all, a pretest was done to have homogenous learners, then the researchercontinued the teaching though whatsapp and traditional method to the experiment and control grouprespectively for six weeks. Finally, a post-test was carried out and the obtained data were analyzedthough SPSS ۲۲. The findings indicated both groups` scores on post-test improved in comparing withtheir pre-test scores, but WhatsApp group outperformed in writing learning in comparison with controlgroup. This finding shows the efficacy of one of the teaching modes that is teaching through digitalizedinstrument. In fact, the result of T-test showed that the participants of the WhatsApp -learning groupoutperformed to the control group. The obtained results revealed that, students have positive attitudestowards online learning of the speaking skill, they consider it effective because it helps them expressthemselves more freely and develop their speaking skills in an individualized environment at their ownpace and time. The significance of attitudes and self-efficacy experienced in face-to-face educationalenvironments is also valid for distance education applications. Because networks have become stronger intoday's technology.
