Abstract:

This study explores the influence of Persian language on two different languages, Arabic and English, through an analysis of Persian loanwords. Persian has had a significant impact on both languages, owing to the historical, cultural, and linguistic interactions between the peoples who spoke them. The study begins by providing background information on the historical and cultural relationships between Persian and Arabic, and between Persian and English, highlighting the linguistic and cultural exchanges that have occurred over time. The analysis then focuses on the Persian loanwords in each language, examining their origins, meanings, and uses. The study finds that Persian loanwords have contributed to the enrichment and expansion of both Arabic and English vocabularies, as well as to the expression of various cultural and intellectual concepts. However, the ways in which these loanwords have been adopted and assimilated differ depending on the linguistic structure and historical context of each language. The study concludes that the adoption and assimilation of loanwords reflect the cultural, political, and economic relationships between the languages in question. It highlights the need for a deeper understanding of the cultural and linguistic interactions between languages, and the role that loanwords can play in this process. The study also underscores the value of language learning and cross-cultural communication in fostering greater understanding and appreciation of different cultures.
