Abstract:

Introduction: Iran is among the eight countries with aerospace technology and it is becoming one of the world powers in the field of aerospace technology. Due to the limitations of physicians and nurses’ presence in space and specific health problems in space travel, the identification and empowerment of telehealth systems in Iran's space industry is of particular importance. Therefore, the present study was performed to achieve this goal.Method: This review study has been performed using Persian and English "Telemedicine", "Health electronic", "Tele medical", "Tele health", "Space technology", "Space station" and "Aerospace medicine" keywords in the existing databases in Iranian National Medical Digital Library including (Magiran, Scientific Information Database (SID), Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and PubMed) from January ۱ in ۲۰۱۰, to January ۱ in ۲۰۲۲. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement was used for document screening and selection, while data were analyzed through constant comparison. Results: ۱۰۲۲ documents were retrieved in the initial search. After removing duplicate and unrelated documents, ۲۸ documents were eligible for the study. The most important advanced telehealth systems in the aerospace industry include systems based on state-of-the-art technology. These systems include artificial intelligence, robotic technologies, mobile communications, microsensors and nanotechnology. They can be used considering the availability of infrastructure requirements for the use of these systems in Iran's aerospace industry. Conclusion: Establishing telehealth systems in Iran's aerospace industry will create a huge change in the aerospace industry. Due to the importance, benefits and difficulties of using telehealth technology, the feasibility of implementing telehealth in Iran's aerospace industry and trying to empower it is a complex and time-consuming matter. It is hoped that valuable services will be provided in this industry with the increasing development of medical science and other related sciences in the aerospace industry including mechanical engineering, electronics, information technology and other aerospace -related sciences.
