Ultrasound Promoted Efficient Synthesis of some Amides from Nitriles in Ambient Condition

Some amide derivatives have been synthesized by the reaction of corresponding nitriles with potassium tert-butoxide as a nucleophilic oxygen source under ultrasonic irradiation. This new methodology provides good to excellent yields in short reaction times (۱۵-۹۰ min) at room temperature.
