Abstract:
The utilization of waste energy sources and their treatment are veryimportant in energy science due to their numerous benefits such asenergy saving and feasible fuel conservation. The purpose of this thesisis to recover the waste heat of a turbojet engine using a Kalina cycle interms of thermodynamics. Modeling of the entire proposed system hasbeen done in EES software. Thermodynamic analysis is based on energyand exergy, which is related to the efficiency of the overall operation andcomponents of the system. For the overall analysis of the system, theeffect of various parameters including turbojet turbine inlet temperature,turbojet engine compressor pressure ratio, Kalina turbine inlettemperature and the Kalina turbine working fluid concentration on thesystem performance including energy efficiency and exergy, systemproduced power and exergy destruction amount have been studied. Themain results are that the thermal efficiency and exergy efficiency of theproposed system is ۳۳.۸۴% and ۶۷.۶۸ %, respectively. The totalproduced power by the system is ۱۸۳۲۰ kW. The three equipment thathave the highest amount of exergy destruction rate are evaporator,combustion chamber and nozzle, respectively.
