Abstract:

In the present work, the process of hydrogen production by photoelectrochemical splitting of water was investigated in the presence of graphite carbon nitride/bismuth vanadate nanocatalyst. For this purpose, at first, nanostructures of BiVO۴, g-C۳N۴, BiVO۴/g-C۳N۴ were synthesized. The synthesized nanostructures were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). After confirmation, the performance of nanostructures as a catalyst in the hydrogen evolution reaction was evaluated and compared by linear scanning voltammetry method. The obtained results showed that the BiVO۴/g-C۳N۴ nanocatalyst has the lower overpotential and higher current density. Therefore, this nanocomposite can be proposed as a potential catalyst for H۲ fuel production.
