Abstract:
Power system oscillations are an important challenge for the stability and performance of modern power systems. To solve this issue, the use of Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) with advanced control techniques is proposed. Among these techniques, fuzzy logic control has emerged as an intelligent control approach capable of increasing power system oscillation damping. This paper focuses on enhancing power system oscillation damping using a UPFC based fuzzy logic controller. The proposed method offers several advantages over conventional control systems. The adaptability of the fuzzy logic controller ensures effective damping under dynamic operating conditions. In addition, the integration of UPFC and fuzzy logic controller optimizes the stability of the system and increases its overall performance. Simulation studies were conducted on a proposed power system to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. The results indicate that the UPFC-based fuzzy logic controller effectively increases the power system oscillation damping and leads to improved stability and reduced risks associated with oscillations.
