Abstract:

Following the expansion of urban areas and the renovation of worn-out textures, the need for demolition engineering and specialized implementation of this science in the country has becom more important than ever. In recent years, building demolition has challenged urban developers given the increase in demolition projects and the required demolition height. The importance of building demolition has also been recognized by researchers and, given its environmental effects, it is predicted to achieve equal attention to conventional planning, design, construction and maintenance in the near future. Therefore, the present study, relying on library resources as wellas experts' opinions in the field of building demolition, aims to investigate and prioritize the risks of building demolition using the FMEA method. Finally, the risks of lack of preventive or protective equipment, lack of safety standards and regulations, and inattention and carelessness of workers were introduced respectively as the priority risks in the process of structural demolition.
