Abstract:

Modelling a desalination plant working under a sustainable situation can be a key solution for producing drinking water to deal with water crisis in different corners of the world. In this research, an optimizedMED-TVC desalination plant is modeled to produce ۱۰۰۰۰ ۳⁄ drinking water. This desalination plant is coupled with a hot oil section to provide required thermal energy for the plant. Due to the restriction of solar panels, electrical heaters are considered to intensify the temperature of oil in the cycle during normal operation to provide thermal energy for producing steam. Instead of a large solar field, a small one is considered to provide thermal energy just in start-up times, and then it would be shifted on electricalheaters during normal operation. The net capacity of the power plant would be ۵۰ MWe. A desalination plant of MED-TVC type is considered to be coupled with a hot oil section. As a matter of fact, the MED-TVC plant is optimized by an additional ejector to increase the evacuation and vacuum the non-condensable gases from the last effect to increase the efficiency of the plant and producing drinking water with a higherproduction rate.
