Abstract:

Background & Aim: Prior research suggested that both exercise training and Ginkgo Biloba supplements exerted positive impacts on Alzheimer's patients. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of Aerobic interval training along with Ginkgo Biloba supplementation on Glial cell line- derived neurotropic factor (GDNF) expression in Alzheimer's rats.Materials & Methods: A total of ۴۹ male Wistar rats with a weight of ۲۵۰ ± ۲۰ grams were maintained in a controlled environment temperature and had Aerobic interval training and supplement consumption (۱۰۰ mg per kg of body weight) for eight weeks (five days per week). The mice were randomly divided into seven groups (۷ mice/group), including healthy control, Alzheimer's control, amyloid beta injection+Ginkgo biloba supplementation, amyloid beta injection+Ginkgo biloba supplement+Aerobic interval training, amyloid beta injection+Aerobic interval training, sham (surgical stress)and placebo (supplement stress). Results: A significant difference was observed between the training group and supplement group after surgery and after training and supplement consumption, indicating that training with the supplement led to improvement GDNF expression in rats (P <۰.۰۵).Conclusions: aerobic exercise along with ginkgo biloba supplementation might play an important role in increasing GDNF expression
