Abstract:

In this article, the place of imagination and imagination in Iranian painting in the early Safavid period has been investigated and the relationship between light and color in his work has been investigated. But since in the golden age of art of Safavid era, numerous famous artists worked and the works are very diverse and remarkable, we have focused most of this article on the works of Sultan Muhammad (the painter) . In this article, an attempt has been made to open a door for other researchers and the future generation, so that by rereading and describing this imagination in the paintings, the honor and dignity of the paintings of the painters of our land will be raised and its importance will be shown to the world. The purpose of writing this article is to open a new window in the direction of examining Iranian paintings and further understanding the wide dimensions of light in painting and finding the connection between the elements and details of each image. One of the results of this search was that it became clear that Sultan Muhammad's strong imagination and creativity are visible in his works, although in some paintings, this imagination is more obvious and in others a little more hidden. Also, one of the other results of this research was to reach the point that the presence of many details in the paintings, as well as the different states and movements of the figures, shows a strong connection between form and content in the works of artists of this period, and of course, Sultan Mohammad (the painter) . Finally, in the topic of light, it was concluded that light in Iranian painting is bright and clear and does not have darkness, and this issue has historical and mystical roots.
