Abstract:
Titanium containing hydroxyapatite (TiHAp) with molar ratio of XTi=Ti/(P+Ti)= ۰.۰۵was synthesized through precipitation method following by a hydrothermal stage at ۱۰۰oC for۶ hours by using titanium complex as titanium source. XRD analysis carried out for samplesafter calcinations at ۶۵۰oC for ۱ hour and the result confirmed the sample was purehydroxyapatite. Investigation of the different binds in the titanium hydroxyapatite (TiHAp)structure was performed using Raman and FTIR spectroscopy. By adding titanium no new peakwas observed in Raman spectrum but results of the fitting process show the changes in positionand FWHM of the phosphate v۱ peak. Addition of titanium into HAp results broadening of thephosphate peak in Raman spectrum and also shifting the position of the peaks to lowerwavenumber. Broadening and shifting of the Raman peaks is due to disorder structure andmicroscopic strain in the structure. pure apatite structure has negative charge equal to -۵mv onthe surface and by introducing titanium it become +۱.۵.In pure HAp anions such as HPO۴۲-lead to negative charge of the surface.
