Calcium Supplementation and Lipid Metabolism in Women Overweight

This study explores the impact of daily supplementation with ۱,۵۰۰mg of calcium (as CaCO۳) for threemonths on hormones regulating calcium and energy metabolism, as well as rates of lipid oxidation andlipolysis in overweight premenopausal women. The investigation is based on the hypothesis thatincreased dietary calcium may stimulate lipolysis, influencing body adiposity. While urinary calciumincreased and ۱,۲۵(OH)۲D declined significantly, parameters such as body weight, body fat, rates oflipid oxidation, and lipolysis remained unaffected.
