Abstract:
The present study was conducted to investigate the impact of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) on reading comprehension and self-confidence among Iranian EFL learners. To fulfill the purpose of this study, ۰۶ participants were selected conveniently. The present research was done through a quasi-experimental, pre/post design. The participants were in two groups as control group (CG) and experimental group (EG). The students in EG were taught through task- based language teaching (TBLT), and the participants in CG received traditional methods of teaching. One-way ANCOVA was used to compare the data between CG and EG. The results showed that the learners in EG outperformed the learners in CG, it means that TBLT had a positive effect on reading comprehension and self-confidence of the students. The results of this study may have implications for teachers, learners, and materials developers.
