The effects of chromium and cadmium on the activity of alkaline phosphatase lsoenzmes in rats

The aim of this study was to Investigate the toxic effects of chromium and cadmium on the activity of two isoenzymes of alkaline phosphatase in vitro and in vivo experiments. Oral administration and peritoneal injection of  CdCl۲ or CrCl۳ in rats reduced serum alkaline phosphatase by ۲۱.۵℅ and ۲۵.۵℅ respectively. At the same time high molecular weight alkaline phosphatase was elevated by ۱۳۸℅ and ۳۳۳℅ , and low molecular  weight alkaline phosphatase was reduced by ۳۰ or ۴۰ percent. The in vitro experiments indicated that  CdCl۲ or CdCl۳ lead to the reduction of activity of both isoenzymes of alkaline phosphatase.
