Abstract:
Some diseases require high doses of medicine due to the depth of the disease or its intractability. Meanwhile, the use of high doses of medicine causes unpredictable side effects, Also, one of the desired factors for the effectiveness of drugs is their release at the desired place and time to increase the efficiency of these drugs. One of the factors that is used for optimal drug delivery today is drug release systems. Hydrogels can be considered one of the types of drug release systems that are used in many branches of medicine, including cardiology, oncology, immunology, wound healing and pain relief. The structure of hydrogels is such that they contain large amounts of water and cross linked polymer network structures. In this study we evaluate the Characteristics and advantages of hydrogels , the structure of hydrogels and the way of drug release from hydrogels, details of macroscopic hydrogels, microgels and nanogels, application of injectable hydrogels and Using hydrogels for drug release in cancer treatment.
