The role of technology and architectural evolution

The high speed of technological developments in the last two decades has been so overwhelming that it has had various consequences in architecture and has caused architects to find various trends in the design and construction of buildings. In fact, technology has influenced our knowledge and changed our understanding of the world around us and made us imagine new architectural spaces. This research is based on the qualitative research method using documentary and library methods and review of electronic resources in the field of the impact of technology on the traditional and modern architecture of Iran. The results showed that in the traditional architecture of Iran, technology in structural systems according to the function of the building, materials, shape and geography of the region includes arches, vaults and domes, and traditional materials include heavy materials and sticky mortar, but in modern architecture Technology in structural systems has very little diversity, brick is still the main separating element in walls and ceilings, and the use of two systems of roofs, vaulted ceilings and block beams is very common, and public materials are not suitable for Employers and the general public, including steel and concrete, are being used in an incomplete, inefficient and primitive manner.
