Abstract:
Introduction :Today, wound repair, especially surgical wounds, is a major clinical problem. Boswellia carterii extract has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties due to its boswellic acid acid content. The aim of this study is to investigate the pathology of the effect of Boswellia carterii extract on the surgical wound healing process of the stomach of rats.Materials and method:The ۴۵ adult male rat heads of the Vistar breed were divided into ۳ groups of ۱۵ (Control, positive, Boswellia carterii extract). During surgery, the stomach was removed from the ventral chamber and a one-centimeter-long wound was formed on its large bend, and then stitched in two layers. The experimental group received ۱ ml of Boswellia carterii extract per ۱۰۰ grams of body weight, and the group received the same amount of physiological serum daily and through gavage for ۱۴ days. On the ۳rd, ۷th and ۲۱st days after surgery, each group of ۵ mice were selected and their stomachs removed to be examined after microscopic examination of repair indicators. In order to examine the histopathology and histomorphometry of the tissue hub sample, hematoxylin_eosine was painted. The parameters examined included inflammatory cells, fibroblast, vascularization, and the formation of lining tissue. Results :The results showed that the rate of inflammatory cells on days ۷ and ۲۱ in the group receiving the extract and Omeprazole had a significant and significant decrease compared to the control group(۰.۰۰۱ p<). It also showed a significant increase in the amount of collagen-forming cells(fibroblasts) in the experimental group and positive control over the control group(P<۰.۰۱). In terms of the formation of coating tissue, a significant statistical difference was also observed between the groups on different days(P<۰.۰۵).Conclusion :According to the results, Boswellia carterii extract has had a positive and beneficial effect on the surgicalwound healing process of the stomach tissue of rats.
