Abstract:

School is the most effective place to create knowledge and positive attitudes in studentstowards physical activity. On the other hand, adolescence is a crucial period of developmentfor modeling health in adulthood, which can have lasting effects on physical, mental, andsocial health and lay the foundations of a healthy and active life throughout adulthood.Physical activity is vital for adolescents because it can sustain health by managing weight,increasing bone and muscle growth, improving sleep quality, upgrading self-confidence, andbeing able manage stress.Adolescents are predisposed to lack of physical activity. Lack of physical activity, a commonproblem in teenagers, is caused by technological developments and increasing digitalapplications. These programs, such as games, electronic media, social networking, andapplications of mobile phones, attract the attention of the young, cause to effortless andwithout mobility. Also, low physical activity is a risk factor for diseases such as obesity, heartdisease, hypertension, and other non-communicable diseases in adulthood. Since the role ofthe schools is to train educated and healthy people for society, it is necessary to seriouslyconsideration curricula of schools, and increase physical activity in students as a priority, inthe agenda of the authorities and practitioners used.To promote physical activity in students and teenagers, we need health literacy to educate.Health Literacy is defined as cognitive and social skills of individuals to gain access to,understand, and use information to promote and maintain good health. Physical activity is ahealthy lifestyle and can be influenced by the level of health literacy.Reduced physical activity among adolescents can be initiated by several factors. Of them,individual factors such as knowledge can be influence by education. Therefore, it is necessaryto include physical activity and health literacy in the curriculums of schools.
