Abstract:
Road transportation is considered one of the important parts of economic development in all humansocieties, especially in developing countries. Therefore, safety in the traffic is very important of thismode of transportation. One of the most accident-black spot parts of the roads is the entrance to thecities, where ۶۰% of the fatal accidents in the suburbs occur between ۰–۳۰ kilometers from theentrance of cities. In this research, using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the theory oftraffic safety experts, it has been tried to identify the most important factors affecting theoccurrence of accidents at the entrance points of cities on highways. First, the main criteria includinghuman violation, infrastructure, traffic flow and environmental conditions were defined, then eachsub-criterion was defined and according to the data analysis by Expert Choice software, the mostimportant main criterion, human violation, was introduced and the most effective sub-criterion, thatthe occurrence of such incidents of wavy movements was determined
