Abstract:

Health literacy is a multifaceted concept that has been defined in various ways. It encompasses a range of factors that are crucial in everyday life. One such factor is cognitive errors, which can have detrimental effects on mental health. Consequently, therapists must consider these errors when making decisions regarding diagnosis and treatment for individuals experiencing physical and mental distress. Cognitive errors are a prevalent crisis worldwide, and given their significant impact on various aspects of life, it is beneficial to assess clients' health literacy levels to enhance their well-being prior to conducting any interventions. The objective of this study is to examine existing research on cognitive errors and their influence on individuals' health, as well as the methodologies employed in studying this phenomenon. This review article presents the most reliable evidence in response to the question of how to analyze the occurrence of cognitive errors. The search for relevant literature was conducted in international scientific databases, with a focus on English-language articles. Subsequently, article summaries were reviewed and duplicates and irrelevant items were eliminated through a multi-stage process. Ultimately, the final articles were selected for comprehensive review and data extraction, with a particular emphasis on the role of health literacy in preventing cognitive errors and managing associated symptoms. The findings of these tudies were then synthesized and analyzed.
