Abstract:

Hydrodynamic deep drawing is one of the metal forming processes used in various industries and many researches have been done to improve it. Using of ultrasonic vibration is one of the modern approaches in forming processes which reduce friction and forming force. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of ultrasonic vibration applied to the die in the hydrodynamic deep drawing process. For this, Using the finite element method, Ultrasonic vibration with a frequency of ۲۰ KHz and different vibration amplitudes was applied in the hydrodynamic deep drawing and the forming force are compared in four modes of Conventional Deep Drawing (CDD), Hydrodynamic Deep Drawing (HDD), Deep Drawing assisted by Ultrasonic vibration (UDD) and Hydrodynamic Deep drawing assisted by Ultrasonic vibration (UHDD). Results showed, The forming force with the application of ultrasonic vibrations is reduced between ۱۰ and ۳۵%, Depending on the vibration amplitude, Compared to the forming force without ultrasonic vibrations.
