Abstract:
This research investigates the integration andoptimization of multiple components in a modern microgrid,including fossil fuel and renewable resources, load responseprograms, and conservation voltage reduction (CVR). Themain objectives are to reduce peak network load, decreaseenergy consumption through CVR, and enhance systemreliability. The study addresses uncertainties related torenewable resource production and load participation indemand response programs. It proposes modeling theuncertainty of renewable resources accurately to optimize theallocation of load response programs, particularly incentivebased programs, by considering the relationship betweenuncertainty and average wind speed. This approach enablessmarter allocation of incentives during hours of loweruncertainty, reducing system costs while maintaining loadreduction effectiveness. By filling this research gap, the studyaims to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of loadresponse programs and promote optimal utilization ofmicrogrid resources
