Abstract:
The main challenge regarding the powerconsumption of the complexes is the design and estimationsbeyond their required capacity. The data obtained from theutilization rate of power distribution transformers indicatesthat, in most cases, the actual power consumption of consumersis much less than the demand calculated by the designers.Therefore, the proposed method in this article is to design aprogram in Excel software to estimate the power consumptionof residential, commercial, and office buildings. This programincludes the cooling load evaluation section, lighting, plug-insockets, elevators, escalators, and water pumps. The programhas estimated the power consumption of the units and thecommon loads separately. The results show that the estimatedpower usage for the units and the common loads is reasonablyclose to the actual numbers. Furthermore, the findings indicatethat the kind of cooling system and the presence of gas in thebuilding are the most significant factors contributing to anincrease in residential unit power consumption
