Abstract:

Psychology and education are two significant fields that are combined to form educational psychology. In order to increase the efficacy of teaching and learning, this area of psychology focuses on the scientific study of human learning and investigates the variables that influence how people pick up, retain, and apply knowledge (Woolfolk, ۲۰۱۸). To increase the efficacy of teaching English as a foreign language (EFL), educational psychology is essential. EFL teachers can establish a more engaging and productive learning environment by having a thorough understanding of the cognitive processes, learning styles, and motivating variables that influence language acquisition (Dewaele et al., ۲۰۱۹). These days, a lot of researchers are interested in the use of psychology in the classroom. As a result, this review examines the fundamental ideas and applications of educational psychology in the context of teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) and provides advice and tactics for fostering successful learning outcomes. It is concluded that in order to improve language learning results, educational psychology must be applied to EFL training.
