Abstract:

Shrimp diseases can have a significant economic impact on the aquaculture industry. Early and accurately identification of pathogens is crucial for effective disease management, preventing disease spread and reducing losses. Molecular diagnostic techniques enable sensitive, rapid and accurate detection of shrimp pathogens, thereby enabling timely implementation of disease management strategies. They play a crucial role in monitoring and controlling the spread of diseases and ultimately contribute to the sustainability and productivity of shrimp farming. Effective molecular detection techniques for shrimp infectious diseases have been developed. Conventional Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), nested PCR, and real-time PCR are commonly used to detect shrimp pathogens by targeting specific genes or regions unique to the pathogen. New molecular assays CRISPR-based diagnostic technology has proven to be powerful detection tools in shrimp aquaculture and can simplify disease monitoring and management in the shrimp industry. The purpose of this article is to introduce various methods of molecular diagnosis of aquatic diseases, especially shrimp.
