Abstract:

In this study, using computational fluid dynamics techniques of efficiency and hydraulic pressuredrop of separation of gas condensate of South Pars platform were investigated. The ReynoldsStress Turbulent Model (RSM) and the MIXTURE model were used for simulation. Thesimulation was carried out using ANSYS-FLUENT ۱۸ software. Also in the verification phase, agood and satisfactory match between the simulation results and the actual results was obtained.For two variables, the separation efficiency and cyclone pressure drop were compared with theexperimental results of the order of ۸.۵% and ۱۱.۲% respectively. Finally in order to improve thehydro cyclone efficiency, flow rate was investigated in three different operating modes. Thesimulation results for these three states showed that, with an increase of ۱۵% of the flow rate ofthe input to the cyclone, the efficiency value would improve by about ۲% (optimal), but thepressure drop increased by ۳۳% (undesirable). Also, the rate of separation efficiency ۱, ۲۹۳.۱ and۴۸۷.۱ kg / s, respectively, were ۲۶.۶%, ۲۷.۸% and ۲۹.۵%, respectively. The hydraulic pressuredrop for three different operating conditions was ۳۳۹۰۰, ۴۸۹۵۲ and ۶۵۲۰۰ Pascal, which is lessthan ۱۲% compared to the experimental conditions
