Abstract:

The rapid evolution of the airline industry, characterized by increasedcompetition, technological advancements, and changing regulatorylandscapes, necessitates a strategic overhaul in management practices,particularly in budgeting and planning. This paper explores the integrationof Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) into airline management as apivotal strategy to enhance financial and operational performance.Through a mixed-methods research design, the study combinesquantitative analysis of airline performance metrics with qualitativeinsights from industry executives to evaluate the impact of KPI-drivenstrategies. The findings reveal significant improvements in financialperformance, operational efficiency, and strategic alignment amongairlines adopting KPI-driven approaches. Specifically, airlinesimplementing these strategies reported higher revenue growth, improvedprofitability margins, and enhanced operational metrics such as Cost perAvailable Seat Kilometer (CASK) and Revenue per Available SeatKilometer (RASK). The study contributes to the literature by providingempirical evidence of the benefits of KPI-driven strategies in airlinemanagement and offering practical insights for airlines seeking tooptimize performance in a complex and competitive environment.
