Abstract:

Psycholinguistics is a study that can connect language and the human mind. In the psycholinguistics field, slips of the tongue are defined as unintentional and accidental deviations from the speech process. Slips of the tongue are very common in everyday life. Everybody has experienced some slips of the tongue in their lives. This phenomenon can occur in the utterances of the English language teachers, too. This study investigates the effects of working hours and personality types on English language teachers' slips of the tongue. For this purpose, ۵۰ participants were randomly selected from Ilam's English language teacher. To gain data, a self-made questionnaire and NEO questionnaire, to analyze the obtained data, SPSS software version ۲۶, and to check the study's validity and reliability linear regression test was used. The analysis of the obtained data showed that working hours affected slips of the tongue in English language teachers. But personality types didn't affect slips of the tongue in them
