Abstract:

In this article, the environmental effects of the effluent of a reverse osmosis desalination system have been investigated with regard to the use of a solar farm. this dimensionless index for environmental effects represents the ratio of the difference in salinity flow density with the raw water source in recovery. This concept is used in a reverse osmosis system driven by rankine organic cycle(ORC) system that generates power based on heat absorption from a solar field. In the power generation section, various Rankin organic cycle and operating fluid configurations based on energy analysis (۱E), exergy (۲E), economic (۳E) and environmental effects (۴E) were investigated to produce fresh water. The waste heat in the RO condenser was used to preheat the inlet water to the reverse osmosis system pump. Basic parameters in optimization are:(۱) the ORC configuration choice, (۲) the reverse osmosis system optimum design, (۳) the membrane selection and determining the design parameters of a solar parabolic farm. These values were determined according to the optimization of the system by genetic algorithm. In three-objective optimization, the ORC configuration is chosen with the recuperator, the two-stage RO system and the SW۳۰XLE-۴۰۰i membrane is chosen for both of stages. results show that Increase exergy efficiency with decreasing price by using the environmental impact function defined in this paper.
