Abstract:

Virtual reality (VR) technology is progressing rapidly, and this innovative technology has the potential to be very beneficial in learning languages. There are a variety of essays about its advantages in education, but there have been few studies about its future progress and its possible benefits. This essay discusses the potential impact of the predictive next generation of virtual reality (VR) experiences based on the current trajectory of VR technology. It referred to as the FUTURE VR, on Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). The FUTURE VR offers the integration of Full body tracking, Ultra-realistic graphics, Teleportation, User-generated content, Real-time collaboration, Enhanced sensory feedback, and more in the next generation of VR. The study highlights how these advancements can lead to immersive language learning experiences, enhance cultural immersion, make language exploration possible, increase collaborative learning, foster language exchange, and level up language skills. It emphasizes the need for educators to benefit from these advancements and promote VR technology to create interactive and culturally authentic language learning environments. Integrating all the above-mentioned properties about the FUTURE VR can enable language learners to study their favorite language faster, more intelligently, more creatively, and more eagerly. Progress of this technology can revolutionize not only the classroom environments but also teaching methodologies, strategies, and tasks. It is essential to include this fact in teacher education and professional development.
