Abstract:

Stray dogs, ubiquitous in urban, suburban and rural landscapes around the world, pose significant threats to wildlife and ecosystems. This review synthesizes current knowledge on the environmental threats posed by stray dogs to wildlife, focusing on their ecological consequences and potential management strategies. I examine the various ways in which stray dogs interact with wild animals, including predation, competition for resources, disease transmission, and habitat disruption. In addition, I discuss the ecological impacts of these interactions on wildlife populations, community dynamics, and ecosystem functioning. In addition, I evaluate existing management strategies and approaches aimed at reducing the environmental threats posed by stray dogs to wildlife, highlighting the importance of integrated and context-specific interventions. Combining the latest research findings and management practices, this review provides valuable insights into the complex dynamics between stray dogs and Wildlife and provides guidance for effective conservation and management efforts.
