IONS & Blue Economy; The International Cooperation for a Joint Goal

The importance of the sea and its role in the economy and life of today's countries is undeniable. The interests of the countries that own the sea are directly related to their needs and capabilities, and in fact, their maritime policy is formed based on these characteristics. These policies are explained in the form of maritime strategies of countries and follow their economic, political and military goals. This is what is referred to as the blue economy today. The generalization of the water economy in the precious and important region of the Indian Ocean, on the one hand, and the tumultuous history of the post-colonial countries of the Indian Ocean basin, on the other hand, have highlighted the fact that ensuring the security of this basin has a direct effect on the process of the continuity of the economy of the countries in the basin, and it is inevitable and piracy in today's world is considered to be the biggest threat to maritime security for countries. So ensuring maritime security requires collective action. Therefore, this article tries to find ways to improve the security of maritime transportation by using the regional cooperation organizations such as IORA, and..., with the turning point of the military agreement of this region, namely the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS), and the concepts related to the convergence of these commitments. In order to provide a platform for the maritime economy of the member countries of IONS. Therefore, this research has an applied aspect and in terms of the research method, it is in accordance with the descriptive method, and the collection of information has been done in the form of targeted library studies. As a result, this research has tackled the necessity of explaining and expanding the military cooperation of the member countries of IONS, in order to ensure the stable security of the water economy.
