Abstract:
This study delves into the impact of students’ native language (L۱), encompassing languages suchas Balochi and Persian, on the pedagogical approach to teaching English grammar in high schoolslocated in Zabol. By examining how the linguistic background of students influences theiracquisition of English grammar, this research aims to provide insights that can inform moreeffective language instruction strategies tailored to the specific linguistic context of Zabol.Drawing on the concepts of language transfer, cross-linguistic influence, and cultural relevance,this study seeks to explore the nuanced interplay between L۱ and English grammar learningoutcomes in Zabol high schools. The investigation employs a mixed-methods research design,incorporating quantitative assessments to measure grammar proficiency, qualitative datacollection methods to glean insights into students’ perceptions and experiences, and classroomobservations to capture real-time interactions. By synthesizing findings from these diversesources, this study endeavors to offer a holistic understanding of how students’ L۱ impacts theirmastery of English grammar concepts in the Zabol educational setting. This study aims tocontribute to the field of language education by unraveling the complexities of integratingstudents’ L۱ into English grammar instruction, fostering more nuanced and effective pedagogicalpractices in Zabol high schools.
