Abstract:

For decades the role of English language teachers in Iran has become more important with theintroduction of artificial intelligence in classrooms. While AI-based tools can provide uniquelearning opportunities for students, teachers still play a pivotal role in facilitating and optimizingthis process. One of the most important aspects of a teacher's role is to customize the learningexperience for each student. With a deep understanding of each student's needs, strengths, andchallenges, teachers can use AI-generated data to create unique learning programs. This includeschoosing appropriate learning materials, setting the pace of learning, and providing targetedfeedback. In addition, teachers play a key role in fostering critical thinking and creativity in Englishclasses. While AI can provide language drills and instant feedback, it's teachers who encouragestudents to challenge ideas, ask deep questions, and express themselves creatively. These higherorder thinking skills are critical to students' success in the real world. In addition, teachers providethe emotional support and human interaction that is essential for language learning. By creating asupportive environment, building positive relationships with students, and providingencouragement and guidance.
