Abstract:

This study aims to investigate the impact of employees' perception of job security on individual and team performance in large industries in Iran. Job security is defined as the assurance that employees have regarding the continuation of their job and their wages and benefits against external and internal threats. The study utilizes both quantitative and qualitative methods, collecting data through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The sample consists of 400 employees from various large industries in Iran. Correlation and regression analysis results indicate that the perception of job security has a significant positive effect on both individual and team performance. The correlation between job security perception and individual performance (r = 0.65) and team performance (r = 0.60) suggests that increasing job security can enhance employee performance. Additionally, qualitative analysis results show that employees with a high perception of job security exhibit higher job satisfaction and experience less stress. Case studies conducted in the steel, automotive, and food production industries demonstrate that job security reduces stress and anxiety, increases productivity and motivation, and improves collaboration and coordination in work teams. The study offers recommendations for improving job security in organizations, including developing clear and fair policies, creating training and development programs, enhancing organizational communication, and providing psychological support and counseling to employees. The findings of this study highlight the importance of job security in enhancing individual and team performance, suggesting that organizations should pay special attention to this issue.
