Abstract:
Background: Mankind has always been trying to improve life and more comfort and in this way along with achievement Materials, equipment, devices and technology are also faced with more and newer risks. Identifying these risks can play an effective role in reducing their complications. Implementation of the Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) method can be an effective help in identifying and classifying these risks and events. Methods: The current descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in a metals manufacturing company in Ahvaz city. The most important tool used in conducting preliminary risk analysis is risk checklists. In this sense first, three important production units (turning, casting and welding) were selected. Then the acceptable risk levels and the scope of assessment were defined .In the next step, system risks were identified and the level and number of risks were calculated. Results: The present study examined ۳ units in that a total of ۳۵ risks were identified. The results showed that the level of unacceptable risk was ۹۷% and the level of unfavorable risk was ۲.۸۵% included the highest and the lowest percentage of risk, respectively. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, most of the risks identified were at the level of unacceptable risk. In order to reduce the level of risk and improve the level of safety, applying appropriate and corrective actions and solutions, to eliminate, reduce or control existing risks, is necessary.
