Abstract:

The history of urban management goes back to the emergence of cities and the need to establish regulations governing various aspects of human life. Its purpose is to improve living conditions and promote social and economic development by recognizing social capital as a valuable resource. Social capital consists of connections, relationships, and mutual trust among network members that contribute to community goals. Proponents of urban planning emphasize decentralization and participatory governance and emphasize the importance of citizen participation in decision-making and planning. Broad participation is considered essential to address problems and achieve urban management goals, and facilitates decentralization, decision-making, and superior implementation. The present study examines the relationship between social capital and urban management. Based on its external purpose, this research is an applied research and based on its internal purpose, a descriptive research of the case study type, the research approach is also qualitative. And the data collected through internet search, document review and research conducted in this field. And in the results section, the role of social capital in urban management is examined and then solutions are presented.
