Abstract:

Despite the potential application of polymer nanoparticles in various industries, one of the challenges for the use of nanoparticles in cancer diagnostics and treatment lies in their purification and separation. Therefore, nanoparticle separation has garnered significant attention in many scientific fields in recent years. The aim of this article is to find an appropriate method for the purification and separation of protein nanoparticles as drug carriers (as improper methods can reduce their efficacy), based on the different fabrication methods and properties of nanoparticles. Initially, we prepared serum albumin nanoparticles from bovine serum albumin, human serum albumin, and gelatin nanoparticles using precipitation method, followed by separation and purification using ultrafiltration, dialysis, centrifugation, gel electrophoresis, and FTIR characterization. The optimal sizes for bovine serum albumin, human serum albumin, and gelatin nanoparticles were found to be ۵۳, ۶۷, and ۱۷۴ nm respectively, indicating their suitability for drug delivery.
