Abstract:

Abstract Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of ۶W power Carbon Dioxide Laser (CO۲) on the biologic compatibility of the Sandblasting with large grit and acid etching (SLA) titanium discs through studying of the Sarcoma Osteogenic (SaOS-۲) human osteoblast-like cells viability.Methods: Sterilized titanium discs were used together with SaOS-۲ human osteoblast-like cells. ۶ sterilized SLA titanium discs of the experimental group were exposed to irradiation by CO۲ laser with a power of ۶W and ۱۰.۶۰۰nm wavelength, at fixed frequency of ۸۰Hz during ۴۵ seconds in both pulse and non-contact settings. SaOS-۲ human osteoblast-like cells were incubated under ۳۷° C in humid atmosphere (۹۵% weather, ۵% CO۲) for ۷۲ hours. MTT test was performed to measure the ratio level of cellular proliferation.Results: The results indicated that at ۵۷۰nm wavelength, the ۶W CO۲ laser power have not affected the cellular viability.Conclusion: CO۲ laser in ۶w power has had no effect on the biologic compatibility of the SLA titanium surface Keywords: CO۲ laser titanium SLA
