Abstract:

Causal Layer Analysis (CLA) is a strategic foresight methodology that offers a deepand nuanced understanding of complex issues by examining multiple layers ofcausation. This article explores the concept of CLA and its relevance in thetelecommunications industry, where rapid technological advancements and evolvingmarket dynamics present both challenges and opportunities. By dissecting issues acrossfour distinct layers – litany, systemic, worldview, and myth – CLA provides acomprehensive framework for uncovering root causes, underlying assumptions, andpotential future scenarios shaping the telecommunications landscape. In the context oftelecommunications, CLA can be applied to various critical topics, including the impactof emerging technologies, regulatory frameworks, market competition, and consumerbehavior trends. Through the lens of CLA, industry stakeholders can gain a holisticperspective on the interconnected factors influencing these issues, enabling moreinformed decision-making and strategic planning. Furthermore, a case studydemonstrating the practical application of CLA in addressing connectivity challengeswithin the telecommunications sector showcases how this methodology can lead toinnovative solutions and transformative outcomes. By leveraging CLA to navigateuncertainties, anticipate trends, and drive meaningful change, telecommunicationsprofessionals can better position themselves to adapt to the ever-evolving industrylandscape and shape a more sustainable and resilient future.
