Abstract:

Identification of the Jamming / interference signal is of great importance in detection, estimation and mitigation applications, such as communication, navigation, RADAR and electronic warfare (EW) systems. These unwanted signals may either degrade the performance of the system (by producing measurement errors), or completely ignore the performance. In this paper, a new method is proposed for detection and frequency determination of the single-tone jamming / interference signal in the global navigation satellite system (GNSS). By utilization of bordered autocorrelation Toeplitz matrix and Fast Fourier transform of row-sum derivative, the unwanted signal is identified and detected. The simulation and hardware experimental results demonstrate the better detection performance of the proposed method compared to some other algorithms in this domain. Also, the computational complexity of the proposed method is decreased due to elimination of eigenvalue-decomposition (EVD) stage. The proposed method can be used as an early warning stage in vital systems such as GNSS, RADAR and telecommunication systems.
