Abstract:
A two dimensional physically-based computer simulation of a micromorph solar cell is presented. Optimization of thicknesses and doping of layers is performed.We have investigated impact of the light trapping on the three regions of micromorph solar cells. Optical filter is designed by1D-photonic crystal concept as intermediate reflecting layerwhich increases the current generated in a 200nm thick a-Si:H top cell. We have used modulated photonic crystal as backreflector with the aim of improving the photon absorption at infrared wavelengths. On the other hand, high reflection losses can be minimized by using three-layer anti reflector coating
